IRS Recognizes National Whistleblower Day with $8 Billion Recovered Since 2007
The IRS highlighted National Whistleblower Day (observed July 30) and the role whistleblowers play in exposing fraud and strengthening tax compliance. Since 2007, whistleblower information has led to more than $8 billion recovered and over $1.4 billion paid in awards. The IRS also noted a new digital Form 211 and a centralized online fraud-reporting tool at IRS.gov/submitatip.

Oklahoma Sales Tax Holiday — announced July 31, 2026 (event dates: August 7–9, 2026)
The OTC confirmed via its official channels that Oklahoma's annual sales tax holiday runs 12:01 a.m. Friday, August 7 through midnight Sunday, August 9, 2026. Clothing and footwear items priced under $100 are exempt from state and local sales tax; accessories, athletic/protective footwear, and school supplies do not qualify.

Recent update: Oklahoma State Treasurer — June 2026 Tax Revenue Report (published July 8, 2026)
State Treasurer Todd Russ reported total June 2026 revenue of $1.6 billion, up 5.8% year-over-year. Fiscal Year 2026 revenue totaled $17.91 billion, up 5.9% (about $989.9 million) over FY2025. Sales and use tax collections were $617.4 million (up 6.0%), income tax was $613.1 million (up 3.2%), and gross production (oil and gas) tax was $113.4 million (up 27.2%).
